Acer was supposed to launch a version of the CloudMobile smartphone that runs on Aliyun OS, an Android-based operating system developed by Chinese e-commerce firm Alibaba Group. However, the two organizations have announced that the launch of their Acer CloudMobile A800 (pictured) was canceled. Journalists in Shanghai who were supposed to cover the event Thursday were not allowed to enter the venue and an official from Alibaba's subsidiary Alibaba Cloud Computing said the launch had been canceled because of “internal reasons.”.
