Manufacturer Davidoff buy Gitanes and Gauloises for 15 billion dollars

Imperial Tobacco Company, known for its cigarette brands Davidoff and West, confirmed unofficial information that it proposed to acquire the Spanish Altadis, which produces cigarettes under the Gauloises and Gitanes brands, 15 billion dollars (11.53 billion euros). This is stated in a press release Imperial Tobacco. The report also noted that the negotiations are still at an early stage. A Reuters agency passes that Altadis had not yet taken any decision. Agree or abandon the deal would board of directors, which will meet in the coming days. Earlier Altadis has shown itself in the world market as the only active buyer, not the seller of its factories and brands.
Imperial Tobacco evaluated each Altadis shares at 45 euros. This is 16 per cent higher than the value of the securities on the basis of bidding on 14 March. Altadis Shares in the early bidding took off more than 9 percent, and Imperial Tobacco - at 6.6 percent.
Over the past few months, the tobacco industry was held in several major acquisitions. For example, Imperial Tobacco has agreed to buy Commonwealth Brands of 1.9 billion dollars, and Japan Tobacco - British Gallaher for 19 billion dollars, said MarketWatch.
