First Ride: 2012 Tesla Model S Beta

Tesla had a big weekend. Some 1,500 Model S hand-raisers and their +1s descended on the company's recently acquired NUMMI plant in Fremont, CA to see where their $5,000 deposits have gone. The event, which served as both a product extravaganza and a subtle reassurance, sought to prove that the Model S is well on its way to production. And part of the program included rides in three Model S betas. As Tesla was keen to point out, showing off a prototype – even one that's 80-percent complete – is relatively unheard of in the industry.

iPhone 4S first impressions

iPhone 4S first impressions

. The iPhone 4S was launched today, and unfortunately we weren't present at the event for a hands-on, first impression of the phone; but we've scoured the internet looking at reports from people who were there and here's what we've learned so far. The general consensus seem to be disappointment in the lack of the heavily redesigned, larger screened “iPhone 5″. However, if we were to take a page from Apple's history - they did release the 3GS after the 3G, so I guess in hindsight, this announcement should have been expected.

NTT DoCoMo Shared Bicycle Initiative hands-on (video)

Well, NTT DoCoMo is at it again, this time dabbling in the fine art of bicycle sharing. The Japanese mobile carrier's own flavor is currently undergoing beta testing in Yokohama, just outside Tokyo, and uses a familiar kiosk system to collect and dish out bikes. Residents (and tourists with Japanese cell phone numbers) can rent bikes 30 minutes at a time for 105 Yen (about $1.40) for the first half hour, then 210 Yen for each subsequent period. You also rent bikes by the month for 1,050 Yen (about $14).

Well, they aren't going to whip out their name cards or figuratively start sharing each and every viewpoint over a particular situation, but will literally lay their cards on Pioneer's discussion table that is currently being showcased at CEATEC 2011 in Japan.

LG Optimus LTE officially launched in Korea

LG has just launched the first ever HD LTE phone in Korea today with the introduction of the LG Optimus LTE. The phone has been surfacing a lot over the past month in press shots, and photographs, with its specs leaked as well, so it's no surprise that LG has finally decided to reveal the phone. This is one sweet phone that we wish would be released stateside. In addition to having high speed connectivity, the LG Optimus LTE features a gorgeous 4.5″ True HD IPS display (720p resolution) for consumers to stream their HD videos with.

Diablo 3 item database details weapons and armour, Inferno difficulty tier teased

Diablo 3 item database details weapons and armour, Inferno difficulty tier teased

Blizzard have launched a huge Diablo 3 item database detailing the base stats of hundreds of weapons and armour pieces, as well as a few crafting recipes. It looks as though Diablo 3 items will start out with a base build, like the Glorious Chopsword, which will gain two random properties like elemental damage or life steal when crafted, hopefully turning it into a "Glorious Chopsword of Fiery Electrocution," or something. The item database is great if you want to plan ahead with your Diablo 3 build, figuring out what you can craft when to have the best weapon.

2D Boy Announces Hit Game “World of Goo” Coming Soon to Android

The hit indie game World of Goo will soon be making its way onto Android courtesy of the game’s developer, 2D Boy. The game will be redubbed “GooDroid” and the developer let the world know via their blog today that the title will be available for both Android smartphones and tablets alike. If you aren’t too familiar with World Goo, it’s a physics based puzzle game akin to Lemmings where you must guide the Goo Balls to safety using various structures you make within the game. To say the game is anything less than addicting would be an understatement.
