HTC Hub for Windows Phone Mango updated

. The Mango update for Windows Phone devices started rolling out last week, and it looks like companies are starting to update their apps for the operating system as well. HTC has updated its HTC Hub app with a revised user interface and additional functionality. One of the main points about the new version is that it the app now makes use of the typical Windows Phone 7 panorama UI, which makes navigating the app a breeze, and feeling more like Windows Phone than before.
Other functions include the ability to pin stocks, RSS feeds, and Weather locations, which makes it easier to keep yourself posted on what you want or need to know.

Samsung has announced their successor to their Galaxy Tab 7.0 imaginatively named…. Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus. With  1.2GHz dual-core processor, a 7″ WSVGA (1024 x 600) PLS display , 1GB of RAM, 16x32GB of internal memory, microSD slot (up to 32GB), 3-megapixel auto focus rear camera, 2-megapixel front facing camera, Android 3.2 Honeycomb (with TouchWiz), and a 4,000mAh battery, in some respect it's only a minor update from their original.

From one messe to the next. We're on the ground at Japan's Makuhari Messe for CEATEC, on the hunt for robots, green tech, 3D, smartphones and a boatload of prototypes from every product category. The big news this week is obviously that mysterious smartphone we're expecting to see in Cupertino on Tuesday, but CEATEC is the highlight here in Tokyo, providing Japanese companies with an opportunity to shine on home soil, and giving us a sneak peek at what we can expect in the months and even years to come.

Marty McFly's Air Mag Sneaker — In Lego

Sneakers. Back to the Future. Lego. What more do you want.
You probably can't decide which is worse: That you can't afford a pair of Nike Mags, or that Nike finally made Marty McFly's Back to the Future II shoes, but still couldn't be bothered to give them self-lacing closures.

Lack of funds didn't stop Alex Jones. He decided he had to have a Nike Mag, so he did what any self-respecting nerd would — he built one from Lego. And not only did he render the sneaker in plastic bricks, he managed to add the glowing lights of the movie original, and even to make a section of Marty's hover-board for it to sit on.

It's funny.

iPhone 5x4S placeholders pop up at Cincinnati Bell

The truth about Apple's next generation will be unveiled in less than 48 hours, but that's not stopping the speculation train from churning out its last steam to its final destination. Here's a screenshot of Apple's iPhone 4 placeholder at the website of Cincinnati Bell's pre-paid service, i-Wireless, accompanied by a $639.99 price tag and a handful of specs: 32GB, 4-inch screen and 4G data speeds. Our friends over at TUAW have also procured a screenshot (after the break) from the same site, displaying a $99.99 16GB iPhone 4S, sporting a 5MP camera, 3.5-inch screen and an A5 processor.

Homemade robotic tank fires 1000 rounds per minute

Designed by Beatty Robotics, this DIY robotic tank is a force to be reckoned with. Dubbed the Mechatronic Tank, this little robot is equipped with a fully functional 360 degree gun turret that can fire up to 1,000 brass or plastic pellets per minute. Weighing in at a hefty 45 pounds, the Mechatronic tank is also highly agile and capable of making swift, complex movements, all while while firing its turret independently. Complete with four powerful motors and a software controlled drive system that allows the wheels to operate independently, the Mechatronic tank is capable of driving in any direction, or at any desired angle.

Xbox 360 Fall Dashboard update video leaks, tours Metro in silence

Last month, we sat down with Microsoft for a quick look at the Xbox's upcoming Dashboard update - it was sleek, searchable, and extremely camera shy. A quick trip to Europe seems to have cured it of its bashful ways, however, and the budding update can now be seen in a slightly blurry piece of French cinema. This leaked video shows a Dashboard with a smidge more polish than the demo we saw in September, and silently plods on without so much as a bleep or bloop. Our mute host briefly peeks at the Xbox Live Marketplace, casually glances at the Bing search page and scrolls leisurely through the new Dash's very Metro menu.
